Hi! We’re Rebecca and Timian and in September 2015 we left the UK for a 12-month trip around the world – or around as much of it as we can get in one year.
After 5 years of short holidays, mini-breaks and weekend trips fitted around the 9-to-5, our Travel Wish List was far out-stripping what can be squeezed into holiday requests likely to be approved by bosses. So, in the spirit of ‘go big or go home’ we’re planning to go on our biggest holiday yet!
We are not at all backpacking experts. We don’t plan on ‘finding ourselves’ in a Chilean mountain village or becoming survival experts in the Sumatran jungle. Of course we have the standard travel check-list of things to see…the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of China, Machu Picchu and Angkor Wat, but our route isn’t set in stone and hopefully we’ll meet people along the way with tips and suggestions we never would have considered.
The more you learn, the more you realise how little you know. It’s the ‘unknown unknowns’ we’re after, and this blog is how we plan to share and remember them.
